Welcome
Hi all and welcome to Sean Deacon's Railway Photo's. I first became interested in the railways about 6 years ago as a result of seemingly always being on a train. I am now employed on the railways. I have only in the last 4 years started to take photo's and as a result i'm still a novice in this field.
I started off with a point and shoot camera and Investment in a new camera had taken place with the purchase of a FujiFinepix A920 which compared to my last camera is a marked improvement and with the zoom enables me to improve my photo's.
My current camera is newly purchased Sony A200 DSLR. This is a great camera and hopefully you will see further improvements in my work. My first proper day out testing it can be seen in the gallery and has a vast improvement especially with shots at speed
I do believe my photo's as you will see are taken usually at station locations. I feel they give me a better backdrop to my photo's and can also provide some interesting effects.
I am only a beginner as i say in taking photos but i enjoy myself while out which i think is the main point. So please enjoy and feel free to leave constructive comments.
A visit to Peterborough was an interesting visit with Hull Trains 180's and 222's going through at full speed along with Grand Centrals HST. NXEC 91's HST's, and the usual 170, 158, 153 and 317's all seen
This is a gallery showing off what i believe are my best shots of 2008. This galery features everything from Class 66's to class 50's to DEMU's and EMU's. There's something for everyone in this gallery. Charters also feature in this gallery
A visit to Crewe on the way home gave me the first proper chance to test out my new camera. I must Thank the Virgin staff at the station who were brilliant very polite and let me get on with it. Here are the results
Photo's can be found here from todays tour to Scaraborough on East Midlands Trains valenta farewell. The tour was run in aid of the railway children and all proceeds went to the charity. Outward route From Leicester was via Sheffield and Doncaster with the return going via Leeds and Barnsley. A very enjoyable day and thanks must go to all who turned up and dug deep for the railway children
